Baby gifts parents truly want
New parents could use all the help they can get with an infant on the way. With all the mom and baby products in stores and online, and simply the lack of information on these products can make the shopping experience extremely overwhelming. What you as a friend or relative can do is to gift them with something that can be practical for them, and something they can truly be grateful for on this new parenthood journey they are embarking on.
This is a list of items that we have come up with (as moms) that we find to be very useful in our daily lives with little ones -
This is a list of items that we have come up with (as moms) that we find to be very useful in our daily lives with little ones -
- Bedding set - a set would normally come with a mattress protector, a fitted sheet, and a blanket to save parents from wrestling with their baby's mattress when it comes time to swap the sheets.
- Baby clothing - we suggest purchasing ones for 6 months+ because newborns grow extremely fast and they might not be able to wear newborn clothing for long. This is also just in case the size of the baby is much bigger than anticipated, so larger sized clothing is always best!
- Baby feeding bottle - glass or silicone works best, especially ones that are toxic free.
- Swaddles - comes in handy for bedtime
- High chair - for meal times.
- Baby wrap carrier - this is something that both moms and dads can use to carry the baby around. Literally taking some the weight off their backs!
- Bath time gift set - basically soaps and shampoos, we can never have too much. Preferably natural and toxic free!
- Teethers
- Bibs and muslin squares
- Health products like nail clippers, hairbrush, toothbrush, and a thermometer
- Cotton wipes - we use them every day for almost every occasion.
- Baby car mirror - new parents will be able to keep an eye on their new bundle of joy even in the car. This mirror attaches to the rear seat's headrest, so you'll be able to see their smile from their rearview mirror.
- Stroller - if this comes within your budget, would really help new parents save some money. We would suggest a stroller for toddlers (1year+) as this can be used for a much longer time.
- Baby monitor
- Bath toys and a bathtub for bath time.
There are obviously a lot more items that come in handy but these are ones most pragmatic to be bought as gifts that parents and the little ones can use on a daily basis.
Hope this helps, and if you think we have missed some crucial items that you think makes the best gifts, share them with us!
